Over the last 20 years, the passage of environmental legislation, including polystyrene foam bans, recycling mandates, and composting mandates, has increased around the country. The GRA has created an informational map of the current legislation that affects the greening of restaurants. *California, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania have statewide
Mandatory Recycling and Composting laws. New York and North Carolina have a statewide Mandatory Recycling law. Maine has a statewide ban on polystyrene foam.
