Since its founding in 1994, Big Delicious Planet has evolved from two sisters catering backstage for rock bands to a successful full-service urban farm-to-table operation with a talented team of event producers, chefs, baristas, servers and bartenders. Throughout BDP's history the mission of the company has stayed constant: to provide high-quality, globally-inspired food, eye-catching presentations, and personalized service. These qualities are consistently delivered because of a dedicated team who share a passion for creating one-of-a-kind meals and events. BDP's Catering, Canteen & Urban Farm is a hidden gem in the industrial corridor of Chicago’s West Town neighborhood. In 2012, owner Heidi Moorman Coudal transformed three city lots into a lush urban farm that now has 72 raised beds of organic vegetables, herbs, edible flowers, and three beehives. BDP was the first caterer in the country to earn 4-Star Certified Green Restaurant status from the Green Restaurant Association, and still holds the title of “Greenest Caterer in America.”
