Green Restaurant Association (GRA) is a 20-year-old international, non-profit organization with the mission of creating environmental sustainability in the restaurant industry.

Position Description: 

The GRA is seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Communications/Marketing Manager. The position involves orchestrating all public relations, marketing, and branding efforts on behalf of the Green Restaurant Association, restaurant clients, and vendor clients. 

Core Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement green marketing and pr for restaurant and vendor clients via in-store signage, press releases, social media, etc.
• Creatively enhance the social media marketing of the GRA
• Write, edit, and distribute press releases, monthly newsletters, and various contributing articles
• Oversee media research to identify and pursue appropriate media and exposure opportunities and cultivate relationships with media
• Develop and enhance strategic/creative thinking in an effort to grow the GRA brand, and awareness about Certified Green Restaurants^® on a national level
• Track and monitor media coverage
• Attend restaurant trade shows as the GRA spokesperson; write and deliver speeches and presentations

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree
• A minimum of 3 years of related experience in PR/Communications and Marketing.
• Skilled at writing compelling articles and successful press releases
• Experience attracting significant media attention
• A vast knowledge of standard media protocols, eg. writing press releases, media outreach, list development, etc.
• Detailed writer that needs little to no editing
• Effective multi-tasking and time management as well as the ability to recognize and set priorities are essential.
• Strong social media professional skills are necessary (Twitter, Facebook, mobile media)
• Proficiency in Word and Excel
• Ability to make compelling PowerPoint presentations
• Domestic Travel

Will Give Preference to those that also have experience in:

• Graphic Arts (Adobe Indesign)
• Event planning/organizing
• Green Marketing

Where: Boston, MA

When: September 10, 2010 to December 10, 2010. 10-20 Hours per Week.

What: Five Green Dining Fellows will work together in Boston, MA to encourage more restaurants to become environmentally sustainable.  They will be using various tools, including:

•    Social Media
•    Email
•    Web
•    Phone
•    Writing
•    In-person

Green Dining Fellows will have their own individual projects and goals… and will have group projects and collective goals.  If you care about the environment, are a foodie, want to affect change, and desire to work with the world’s preeminent organization regarding restaurants and the environment, then apply to be a Fall 2010 Green Dining Fellow.
